Jordan is a compelling destination for Saudi visitors due to its stunning landscapes and rich history, highlighted by iconic sites like Petra and the Dead Sea. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a notable portion may find Jordan appealing.
Jordan is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Jordan ranks 65th out of 160 countries, which is notably safer than Saudi Arabia, ranked 100th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Jordan is slightly higher at 1.0 per 100,000 people compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. However, when looking at organized crime indices, Jordan performs better in several categories, such as mafia groups (Jordan: 1.5, Saudi Arabia: 3.0) and resource crime (Jordan: 1.5, Saudi Arabia: 7.0). While both countries face challenges related to crime, Jordan's overall safety profile is favorable for tourists. Visitors should always exercise standard precautions, but they can generally feel secure while traveling in Jordan.
