Zambia is an appealing destination for some Nigerians, thanks to its stunning natural attractions like Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The country’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes also attract adventure seekers and nature lovers, making it a notable option for a segment of Nigeria's 219 million population.
Zambia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nigeria. According to the Global Peace Index, Zambia ranks 55th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively peaceful environment, especially compared to Nigeria, which ranks 144th. In terms of crime statistics, Zambia has a significantly lower murder rate of 5.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Nigeria's 22.0. The Global Organized Crime Index also reflects lower levels of organized crime in Zambia, with various indices indicating that Zambia has less severe issues related to mafia groups, crime networks, and human trafficking compared to Nigeria. Overall, while no destination is without risk, Zambia is safer for tourists than Nigeria based on these indicators.
