Vietnam presents a compelling destination for Turkish visitors, showcasing lush landscapes and a rich cultural heritage. While the country is in a recovery phase regarding foreign tourist arrivals, its tourism infrastructure indicates strong potential for growth. With 2.7 million Turks traveling abroad annually, there is a notable opportunity for attracting a segment of these travelers to Vietnam.
Vietnam is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Türkiye. According to the Global Peace Index, Vietnam ranks 41st out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Türkiye, which ranks 137th. In terms of crime statistics, Vietnam has a lower murder rate of 1.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Türkiye's 2.5. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that Vietnam has a lower prevalence of certain types of organized crime compared to Türkiye, particularly in areas like arms trafficking and human smuggling. While no specific data exists for safety while walking alone at night in Vietnam, the overall crime rates and safety rankings suggest that tourists can feel relatively secure while visiting.
