Vietnam boasts lush landscapes and a rich cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for some Mozambicans. Although foreign tourist arrivals are currently low due to recent global disruptions, the country's tourism infrastructure is well-developed and shows promise for growth. Thus, it holds potential for attracting a segment of Mozambique's 33 million population.
Vietnam is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Mozambique. According to the Global Peace Index, Vietnam ranks 41st out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Mozambique, which ranks 106th. In terms of crime statistics, Vietnam has a lower murder rate of 1.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Mozambique's rate of 3.5. The Global Organized Crime Index also suggests that while both countries face challenges, Vietnam generally has lower indices for various types of organized crime. Overall, tourists from Mozambique can expect a safer environment in Vietnam, although it is always advisable to remain vigilant and informed about local conditions.
