Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some Vietnamese travelers. With a growing reputation in international tourism, it attracts a notable number of foreign visitors, suggesting it could be of interest to a segment of Vietnam's 98 million population.
Ukraine is currently considered a less safe destination for tourists compared to Vietnam. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Vietnam ranks 41st. In terms of murder rates, Ukraine has a rate of 3.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Vietnam's much lower rate of 1.5. Additionally, crime indices from the Global Organized Crime Index indicate similar concerns, with Ukraine scoring higher in state crime (8.0) and arms trafficking (8.0) compared to Vietnam. Overall, while both countries face challenges related to organized crime, Ukraine's safety for tourists is notably lower than that of Vietnam. Travelers should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation if considering a visit to Ukraine.
