Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some travelers from Tajikistan. With a growing reputation in international tourism, it attracts a notable number of foreign visitors, which may resonate with a segment of Tajikistan's population of 10 million.
Ukraine currently presents safety concerns for tourists, including those from Tajikistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Tajikistan, which ranks 69th. Murder rates further illustrate this disparity, with Ukraine reporting a rate of 3.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Tajikistan's 0.9. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Ukraine at 1.9 and Tajikistan at 0.2. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index shows that Ukraine faces significant organized crime challenges, with higher scores in various categories compared to Tajikistan. For example, mafia groups and crime networks score 6.0 and 7.0 in Ukraine, compared to 5.5 and 5.0 in Tajikistan. Overall, while travel to Ukraine is possible, it is advisable for tourists from Tajikistan to exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation.
