Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some Thai travelers. With 10.4 million Thais traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing choice for their international trips.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Thailand. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Thailand is ranked 73rd. In terms of murder rates, Thailand has a rate of 4.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. However, the rate of female murders is higher in Ukraine at 1.9 compared to Thailand's 1.2. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights significant differences in safety. For instance, Ukraine scores worse in various crime categories, with mafia groups rated at 6.0 (Thailand at 1.5) and state crime at 8.0 (Thailand at 6.5). Overall, while both countries face crime challenges, Thailand generally offers a safer environment for tourists.
