Ukraine boasts a rich cultural heritage and historical significance, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing option for their travels.
Ukraine currently poses safety concerns for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Saudi Arabia, which ranks 100th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Ukraine is 3.8 per 100,000 people, significantly higher than Saudi Arabia's rate of 0.8. For female murders, Ukraine's rate is 1.9 compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.3. The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights differences, with Ukraine scoring worse in various categories, including mafia presence (6.0 for Ukraine vs. 3.0 for Saudi Arabia) and crime networks (7.0 for Ukraine vs. 6.5 for Saudi Arabia). Overall, while some areas in Ukraine may be safer than others, potential tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation before traveling.
