Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some Indonesian travelers. With around 500,000 Indonesians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing option for their travels.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Indonesia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Indonesia ranks 47th. The murder rate in Ukraine is significantly higher at 3.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Indonesia's low rate of 0.6. Additionally, both countries have similar scores on the Global Organized Crime Index, but Ukraine has higher concerns in areas such as state crime (8.0) and arms trafficking (8.0). Overall, while travel is possible, tourists from Indonesia should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation in Ukraine.
