Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some of Egypt's 111 million residents. In recent years, the country has gained popularity among international tourists, positioning itself as a notable player in global tourism.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Egypt. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Egypt ranks 103rd. The murder rate in Ukraine is higher at 3.8 per 100,000 people compared to Egypt's 2.6. In terms of crime, the Global Organized Crime Index shows that Ukraine has higher indices for various crime categories, indicating a greater prevalence of organized crime and violence. For example, mafia groups in Ukraine score 6.0 compared to Egypt's 3.0, and crime networks score 7.0 in Ukraine versus 5.5 in Egypt. Overall, while safety can vary by region, tourists from Egypt should exercise caution when considering travel to Ukraine.
