Türkiye is an appealing destination for many Saudi visitors, thanks to its rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a portion of them is likely to consider Türkiye for their travels.
Türkiye's safety for tourists from Saudi Arabia can be assessed through various rankings and statistics. In terms of safety while walking alone at night, Türkiye ranks 31st among 40 European countries, but specific data for Saudi Arabia is unavailable. According to the Global Peace Index, Türkiye is ranked 137th out of 160 countries, which indicates it is less safe compared to Saudi Arabia, which ranks 100th. Looking at murder rates, Saudi Arabia has a significantly lower rate at 0.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Türkiye's rate of 2.5. Additionally, female murder rates are lower in Saudi Arabia (0.3) than in Türkiye (1.0). The Global Organized Crime Index also shows a higher level of organized crime in Türkiye. For example, Türkiye scores 8.0 for mafia groups and 9.0 for state crime, while Saudi Arabia scores 3.0 and 8.0, respectively. Overall, while Türkiye is a popular tourist destination, it has higher crime rates and lower safety rankings compared to Saudi Arabia, suggesting that tourists should exercise caution and stay informed while visiting.
