Türkiye offers a rich blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for many Egyptians. With its unique East-West fusion, diverse natural landscapes, and cultural heritage, it attracts millions of international tourists each year. A segment of Egypt's population of 111 million may find Türkiye particularly interesting for travel.
Türkiye's safety for tourists from Egypt presents a mixed picture. It ranks 31st among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, but lacks specific data for Egypt. According to the Global Peace Index, Türkiye is ranked 137th out of 160 countries, while Egypt is at 103rd, indicating that Egypt is perceived as safer overall. In terms of crime rates, Türkiye has a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000 people, slightly lower than Egypt's 2.6. However, the female murder rate is higher in Türkiye at 1.0 compared to Egypt's 0.5. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Türkiye faces more challenges with organized crime, scoring worse in various categories compared to Egypt. For instance, Türkiye scores 8.0 for mafia groups and 9.0 for state crime, while Egypt scores 3.0 and 8.0, respectively. Overall, while Türkiye has its attractions, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about safety conditions.
