Türkiye offers a rich blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for some Congolese visitors. With its unique East-West fusion, diverse natural landscapes, and strong presence in international tourism, it attracts millions of travelers each year. Thus, it may attract a segment of the 6 million people in Congo.
Türkiye's safety for tourists from Congo presents a mixed picture. In terms of walking alone at night, Türkiye ranks 31st out of 40 European countries, indicating moderate safety. However, according to the Global Peace Index, Türkiye is ranked 137th out of 160 countries, which is less safe compared to Congo, which ranks 108th. Regarding crime statistics, Türkiye has a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000 people, with a female murder rate of 1.0. Unfortunately, comparable data for Congo is not available. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Türkiye faces significant challenges with organized crime, scoring worse than Congo in several categories, such as mafia groups (Türkiye 8.0 vs. Congo 3.0) and state crime (Türkiye 9.0 vs. Congo 8.0). Overall, while Türkiye has some safety concerns, it may still offer a different experience compared to Congo. Tourists should remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings while traveling in Türkiye.
