Thailand is an appealing destination for some travelers from Uzbekistan, thanks to its vibrant culture, warm hospitality, rich history, delicious cuisine, and beautiful beaches. While it attracts a diverse range of international visitors, it ranks moderately in terms of overall tourist arrivals. Given that 8.4 million Uzbekistanis travel abroad annually, a portion of them may find Thailand an interesting option for their travels.
Thailand is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Uzbekistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Thailand ranks 73rd out of 160 countries, while Uzbekistan is ranked higher at 58th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Thailand is 4.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Uzbekistan's lower rate of 1.4. Additionally, while Thailand has a higher incidence of certain crimes, it also has a more developed framework for tourism and security. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Thailand has lower scores for mafia groups (1.5) compared to Uzbekistan (5.0), indicating a relatively lower influence of organized crime. However, some areas, such as human trafficking and drug trade, present challenges in Thailand. Overall, while Thailand is safe for tourists, visitors should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions, just as they would in any foreign country.
