Thailand is an appealing destination for some travelers from Nepal, thanks to its vibrant culture, warm hospitality, rich history, delicious cuisine, and beautiful beaches. While it attracts a diverse range of international visitors, it has a modest ranking in terms of tourist arrivals. With around 1.2 million Nepalese traveling abroad annually, a portion of them may find Thailand an interesting option to explore.
Thailand is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nepal. According to the Global Peace Index, Thailand ranks 73rd out of 160 countries, while Nepal is slightly lower at 78th, indicating comparable safety levels. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Thailand is higher at 4.9 per 100,000 people compared to Nepal's 2.1. However, organized crime indices suggest that while Thailand has some challenges, it also has a lower score for mafia groups (1.5) compared to Nepal (4.5). Overall, while there are some differences in crime rates and types, Thailand remains a popular and relatively safe destination for tourists. Travelers should always exercise standard precautions to ensure their safety.
