Thailand offers a vibrant culture and warm hospitality, making it an appealing destination for some Bangladeshi travelers. Known for its rich history, delicious cuisine, and beautiful beaches, it attracts a diverse range of international visitors, although it ranks modestly in terms of overall tourist arrivals. A segment of Bangladesh's population of 171 million may find Thailand particularly attractive.
Thailand is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, including those from Bangladesh. According to the Global Peace Index, Thailand ranks 73rd out of 160 countries, which is safer than Bangladesh's rank of 91st. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Thailand is 4.9 per 100,000 people, compared to Bangladesh's rate of 2.4. However, when looking at organized crime indices, Thailand scores lower in several categories, indicating a more significant presence of organized crime compared to Bangladesh. While Thailand has higher rates of certain crimes, it is important to note that many tourists visit the country without incident. As with any travel, exercising caution and being aware of your surroundings is advisable.
