Sudan offers a unique blend of historical and archaeological attractions, making it an appealing destination for some Bahraini travelers. With around 500,000 Bahrainis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Sudan's rich heritage and modern qualities enticing for their travel plans.
Sudan is generally considered less safe for tourists compared to Bahrain. According to the Global Peace Index, Sudan ranks 159th out of 160 countries, while Bahrain is ranked 79th. The murder rate in Sudan is significantly higher at 5.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Bahrain's 0.1. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Sudan faces more challenges with organized crime, scoring higher on various crime indices (e.g., mafia groups: Sudan 6.5 vs. Bahrain 1.0; state crime: Sudan 8.0 vs. Bahrain 4.0). Overall, travelers from Bahrain should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation in Sudan before considering travel.
