Qatar is becoming increasingly appealing to travelers, combining modernity with a rich cultural heritage amidst stunning desert and urban scenery. Although it receives a moderate number of tourists, it generates high revenue per visitor, indicating its status as a premium destination. Given that around 600,000 Peruvians travel abroad annually, a segment of them may find Qatar an intriguing option to explore.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Peru. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Peru, which ranks 97th. Murder rates further illustrate this safety difference: Qatar has a murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Peru's 5.7. Additionally, crime indices from the Global Organized Crime Index show that Qatar generally has lower levels of organized crime compared to Peru, with Qatar scoring better in categories such as mafia presence and overall crime networks. Overall, tourists from Peru can feel secure visiting Qatar, as it has a much lower crime rate and is ranked higher in terms of safety.
