Qatar is becoming increasingly appealing to Chinese visitors due to its unique combination of modernity and cultural heritage, alongside its stunning desert and urban landscapes. Although the number of tourists is moderate, the high spending per visitor indicates its status as a premium destination. With 20.3 million Chinese travelers going abroad annually, there is potential interest in Qatar among this demographic.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from China. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than China, which is ranked 87th. The murder rates also reflect this safety, with Qatar having a rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people compared to China's 0.5. In terms of organized crime, Qatar scores much better on the Global Organized Crime Index, with lower indices across various categories. For instance, Qatar has a mafia group index of 1.0, while China scores 7.0. Overall, Qatar presents a safer environment for tourists compared to China, making it a favorable travel choice.
