Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Nigerian travelers. With a developing tourism infrastructure that includes nearly 3,000 hotels listed on TripAdvisor, it is increasingly equipped to cater to a variety of visitors. While it may attract a segment of Nigeria's 219 million population, its appeal will depend on individual interests and preferences.
Pakistan's safety for tourists from Nigeria can be assessed through various indices and statistics. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, while Nigeria ranks 144th, indicating that Pakistan is relatively safer. The murder rate in Pakistan is significantly lower at 4.0 per 100,000 people compared to Nigeria's 22.0. In terms of organized crime, Pakistan generally has lower indices than Nigeria in several categories. For instance, while both countries face challenges with crime networks and human trafficking, Pakistan scores better in foreign crime (4.5 vs. Nigeria's 7.0) and cocaine trade (3.0 vs. Nigeria's 6.5). Overall, while both countries face security issues, Pakistan presents a slightly safer environment for tourists compared to Nigeria based on these statistics. However, travelers should always exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions.
