Nigeria is a vibrant and diverse country with a rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes, making it an intriguing option for some Pakistani travelers. However, it currently attracts a moderate number of tourists, suggesting that its appeal may be limited to a specific segment of Pakistan's population of 236 million.
Nigeria presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Pakistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Nigeria ranks 144th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Pakistan, which ranks 138th. The murder rate in Nigeria is significantly higher at 22.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Pakistan's 4.0. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index reveals that Nigeria faces challenges with crime networks and organized crime, scoring lower than Pakistan in several categories. For instance, Nigeria has a score of 9.0 for crime networks, while Pakistan scores 7.5. Other areas like resource crime and human trafficking also show Nigeria with higher risks compared to Pakistan. Overall, while Nigeria has vibrant cultural and natural attractions, potential tourists should be aware of the safety concerns and take necessary precautions when planning their visit.
