Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some French travelers. With a developing tourism infrastructure that includes nearly 3,000 hotels on TripAdvisor, it is increasingly capable of catering to various visitor needs. Given that 13.7 million French people travel abroad annually, there is potential interest among them in exploring Pakistan.
Pakistan's safety for tourists, particularly those from France, presents some concerns. While France ranks 84th in the Global Peace Index, Pakistan is significantly lower at 138th out of 160 countries. The murder rate in Pakistan is notably higher, at 4.0 per 100,000 people compared to France's 1.1. In terms of organized crime, both countries have a similar mafia group index of 6.0, but Pakistan scores worse in several categories, such as crime networks (7.5), state crime (7.0), and human trafficking (8.0). Overall, while tourism is possible in Pakistan, travelers should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions and safety measures.
