The Philippines is an appealing destination for some visitors from Vanuatu, thanks to its stunning landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage. Despite a recent decline in tourist numbers, the country's picturesque islands, featuring turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, still attract travelers looking for unique experiences.
The safety of the Philippines for tourists from Vanuatu can be assessed through various crime statistics. According to the Global Peace Index, the Philippines ranks 102nd out of 160 countries, indicating moderate safety concerns. The murder rate in the Philippines is significantly higher at 4.4 per 100,000 people compared to Vanuatu's low rate of 0.3. In terms of organized crime, the Philippines scores poorly on several indices: mafia groups (8.0), crime networks (6.0), and state crime (8.0), while Vanuatu scores much better (1.0, 1.0, and 2.5 respectively). Other crime categories, such as human trafficking and drug-related crimes, also show higher risks in the Philippines compared to Vanuatu. Overall, while the Philippines offers beautiful destinations, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about safety concerns.
