New Zealand offers captivating natural beauty and diverse cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for some Egyptians. Although tourist numbers can vary, there are significant opportunities within the tourism sector that could attract a segment of Egypt's 111 million population.
New Zealand is considered one of the safest countries for tourists, ranking 4th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Egypt, which ranks 103rd. Both countries have the same murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people, but New Zealand has a higher rate of female murders at 1.1 compared to Egypt's 0.5. In terms of organized crime, New Zealand generally has lower indices than Egypt across various categories. For example, state crime is rated 1.5 in New Zealand compared to 8.0 in Egypt, indicating a much lower prevalence of state-related crime. Additionally, New Zealand's scores for human trafficking, arms trafficking, and resource crime are also significantly better than those of Egypt. Overall, tourists from Egypt can feel relatively safe visiting New Zealand, given its high safety rankings and lower organized crime rates.
