Nigeria offers a unique blend of culture and natural beauty, making it an intriguing option for some Saudi travelers. While the country attracts a moderate number of tourists overall, a portion of the 4.8 million Saudis who travel abroad annually may find Nigeria appealing.
Nigeria poses certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Nigeria ranks 144th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Saudi Arabia, which ranks 100th. Crime statistics reveal significant differences in murder rates, with Nigeria's rate at 22.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index shows that Nigeria has higher indices for various crime categories, including organized crime and human trafficking, with scores indicating a more challenging environment for safety. Overall, while tourism is possible in Nigeria, visitors should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions.
