Nigeria offers a vibrant and diverse experience for travelers, featuring rich culture and beautiful landscapes. While it attracts a moderate number of tourists overall, it could appeal to some of the 700,000 Lithuanians who travel abroad each year.
Nigeria presents significant safety concerns for tourists, especially when compared to Lithuania. While Lithuania ranks 31st in the Global Peace Index with a low murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people, Nigeria ranks 144th out of 160 countries, with a much higher murder rate of 22.0. Additionally, Lithuania has relatively low scores in organized crime indices, indicating a safer environment, whereas Nigeria scores higher across various categories, reflecting greater challenges with organized crime, human trafficking, and drug trade. Overall, tourists from Lithuania should exercise caution and thoroughly research safety measures before traveling to Nigeria.
