Mozambique offers stunning coastlines along the Indian Ocean and a rich blend of culture and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Saudi travelers. While it attracts a modest number of international visitors annually, its unique offerings may attract a portion of the 4.8 million Saudis who travel abroad each year.
Mozambique presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Mozambique is ranked 106th out of 160 countries, indicating it is less safe than Saudi Arabia, which ranks 100th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Mozambique is 3.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's significantly lower rate of 0.8. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights various crime issues, with Mozambique scoring higher in areas such as crime networks (8.0) and state crime (9.0) compared to Saudi Arabia's scores of 6.5 and 8.0, respectively. While many tourists visit Mozambique and enjoy its natural beauty, it is advisable for travelers to remain vigilant and informed about local conditions and safety precautions.
