Mauritius is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Egypt. According to the Global Peace Index, Mauritius ranks 22nd out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Egypt, which ranks 103rd. In terms of crime statistics, both countries have the same murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people. However, the rates of female murders are higher in Mauritius at 1.8 compared to 0.5 in Egypt. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that Mauritius has lower scores in various crime categories, suggesting a relatively safer environment.
