Moldova offers a unique blend of cultural and natural attractions that could appeal to Ukrainian visitors. With 11 million Ukrainians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Moldova an intriguing destination worth exploring.
Moldova is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Moldova ranks 61st out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, Moldova has a lower murder rate of 2.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that Moldova has lower scores in categories such as mafia presence and crime networks, indicating a safer environment in these respects. However, Moldova ranks 33rd out of 40 European countries regarding safety while walking alone at night, which suggests some caution is warranted. Overall, while there are safety concerns, Moldova is statistically safer than Ukraine in several key areas.
