Latvia offers a compelling mix of cultural richness and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some visitors from the United Arab Emirates. With a strategic location and strong tourism infrastructure, it stands out in the global tourism market. Given that 6.3 million Emiratis travel abroad annually, a portion may find Latvia an interesting option to explore.
Latvia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Global Peace Index, Latvia ranks 30th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety, and it is ranked higher than the UAE, which is 52nd. In terms of crime statistics, Latvia has a murder rate of 3.0 per 100,000 people, compared to the UAE's much lower rate of 0.5. However, Latvia's organized crime indices suggest that while it has some challenges, it is still safer in terms of certain crime categories compared to the UAE. For instance, Latvia scores better in state crime and mafia presence. Overall, while there are some differences in crime rates and safety perceptions, Latvia remains a welcoming and relatively safe place for tourists.
