The United Arab Emirates is an appealing destination for some Latvian travelers, thanks to its iconic skyscrapers and luxury resorts. Although tourist arrivals can vary, the UAE continues to attract millions annually with its renowned hospitality. With around 500,000 Latvians traveling abroad each year, a portion may find the UAE an intriguing option for their travels.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Latvia. According to the Global Peace Index, the UAE ranks 52nd out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively safe environment, although it is less safe compared to Latvia, which ranks 30th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in the UAE is notably low at 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Latvia's 3.0. However, there are some concerns regarding organized crime, particularly in areas like human trafficking and drug trade, where the UAE scores higher on the Global Organized Crime Index. Overall, while the UAE is relatively safe, tourists should remain aware of their surroundings and exercise standard precautions, as they would in any foreign country.
