Lithuania presents a unique appeal for Cypriot travelers, offering a range of attractions that can attract a segment of the 500,000 Cypriots who travel abroad annually. While it may not rival larger European tourist destinations, its distinct offerings could entice some visitors from Cyprus.
Lithuania is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Cyprus. While it ranks 24th out of 40 countries for safety when walking alone at night—less safe than Cyprus, which ranks 11th—Lithuania holds a better position in the Global Peace Index, ranked 31st out of 160 countries compared to Cyprus at 86th. In terms of crime rates, Lithuania has a higher murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Cyprus at 1.3. However, both countries have similar organized crime indices, with Cyprus and Lithuania both scoring 3.5 for mafia groups. Overall, while Lithuania may have some safety concerns, it is still viewed as a relatively safe country for tourists.
