Ireland's captivating landscapes and rich culture make it an appealing destination for visitors. Each year, millions are drawn to its lush countryside, historic sites, and unique lifestyle. Given that 11 million Ukrainians travel abroad annually, a portion may find Ireland to be an intriguing choice for their travels.
Ireland is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland ranks 2nd out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In contrast, Ukraine ranks 156th, reflecting greater safety concerns. While Ireland is ranked 35th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, it remains significantly safer than Ukraine. For instance, the murder rate in Ireland is 0.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, various crime indices show that Ireland has lower levels of organized crime and state crime compared to Ukraine. Overall, tourists from Ukraine can expect a safe experience in Ireland, although they should remain aware of their surroundings, as they would in any country.
