Ireland offers captivating landscapes and a rich cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a segment of this population may find Ireland particularly attractive for its lush countryside and historic sites.
Ireland is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland ranks 2nd out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety overall. In terms of violent crime, Ireland has a lower murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. However, when looking at safety while walking alone at night, Ireland ranks 35th among 40 European countries, which suggests some caution is advisable. The Global Organized Crime Index shows that while both countries face challenges, Ireland has a better score in areas like state crime (3.0 for Ireland vs. 8.0 for Saudi Arabia) and human trafficking (4.5 for Ireland vs. 8.5 for Saudi Arabia). Overall, while Ireland is safer than Saudi Arabia in many respects, tourists should remain aware of their surroundings, especially at night.
