Hungary offers a rich blend of cultural and natural experiences, making it an appealing destination for some Nigerians. Budapest, known for its luxurious thermal baths and beautiful architecture, showcases a mix of historical charm and contemporary appeal. While it may attract a segment of Nigeria's 219 million population, its overall appeal will vary among individuals.
Hungary is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nigeria. It ranks 16th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. According to the Global Peace Index, Hungary is the 14th safest country out of 160 worldwide, significantly safer than Nigeria, which ranks 144th. In terms of crime statistics, Hungary has a low murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Nigeria's rate of 22.0. Additionally, Hungary scores better in various organized crime indices, indicating a lower prevalence of mafia groups and crime networks. Overall, while no country is without risks, Hungary's safety record suggests a more secure environment for tourists compared to Nigeria.
