Hungary offers a rich blend of cultural and natural experiences, making it an appealing destination for some Ethiopians. Budapest, known for its luxurious thermal baths and beautiful architecture, showcases a mix of historical charm and contemporary appeal. This could attract a segment of Ethiopia's 123 million population.
Hungary is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ethiopia. It ranks 14th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, indicating a high level of safety. In terms of crime statistics, Hungary has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 people compared to Ethiopia's 8.8. Additionally, Hungary ranks 16th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. While both countries face challenges related to organized crime, Hungary has a better overall standing, with lower indices in various crime categories. For example, Hungary's index for mafia groups is 1.0, compared to Ethiopia's 2.0. In summary, tourists from Ethiopia can feel relatively safe when visiting Hungary, as it is statistically safer in terms of crime and overall peace.
