It remains an appealing destination for a segment of Nigeria's population of 219 million.
The United Kingdom is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nigeria. According to the Global Peace Index, the UK ranks 34th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Nigeria, which ranks 144th. Additionally, various organized crime indices show that the UK has lower scores in categories like mafia groups and state crime, suggesting a more stable environment. While the UK ranks 37th among 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, overall, it remains a safer option for tourists compared to Nigeria.
