France is a leading global tourism destination, attracting millions of visitors annually. While it may appeal to some Saudi travelers, only a portion of the 4.8 million Saudis who travel abroad each year may choose to visit.
France is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to safety rankings, France is 40th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, and it ranks 84th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, which is better than Saudi Arabia's ranking of 100th. In terms of murder rates, France has a rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, while Saudi Arabia's rate is lower at 0.8. However, female murder rates are also higher in France (0.7) compared to Saudi Arabia (0.3). Regarding organized crime, France has a higher index for mafia groups (6.0) and crime networks (6.5) compared to Saudi Arabia (3.0 and 6.5, respectively). However, France scores better in state crime (3.0) than Saudi Arabia (8.0). Overall, while there are some safety concerns, France remains a popular destination for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. Travelers should stay informed and take standard precautions while visiting.
