France is a top global tourism destination, attracting millions annually due to its vibrant and diverse appeal. While it may interest some Ecuadorians, only a portion of the 500,000 Ecuadorians who travel abroad each year are likely to consider France as their destination.
France is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Ecuador. According to the Global Peace Index, France ranks 84th out of 160 countries, while Ecuador is ranked 128th. In terms of murder rates, France has a significantly lower rate at 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Ecuador's 14.0. When examining organized crime, France has slightly better indices in various categories, such as state crime (France 3.0 vs. Ecuador 6.5) and resource crime (France 4.5 vs. Ecuador 6.5). However, France is ranked 40th among European countries for safety while walking alone at night, indicating some concerns in urban areas. Overall, while no destination is without risks, France is statistically safer for tourists than Ecuador.
