Germany offers a compelling mix of cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and diverse attractions, making it a significant destination for travelers. With historical landmarks like the Berlin Wall and Neuschwanstein Castle, it attracts millions of international visitors annually. Given that 11 million Ukrainians travel abroad each year, a portion may find Germany an appealing choice for their travels.
Germany is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Germany ranks 20th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, Germany has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, various organized crime indices show that while both countries face challenges, Germany typically has lower scores in categories such as state crime and organized crime activities. However, Germany ranks 29th out of 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, suggesting that caution is still advisable in certain areas. Overall, tourists from Ukraine can expect a safer environment in Germany compared to their home country.
