Germany offers a compelling mix of cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and diverse attractions, making it a significant destination for travelers. With historical landmarks like the Berlin Wall and Neuschwanstein Castle, it attracts millions of visitors annually. This appeal may resonate with a segment of Ethiopia's population of 123 million.
Germany is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ethiopia. According to the Global Peace Index, Germany ranks 20th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In comparison, Ethiopia ranks 142nd. When looking at crime statistics, Germany has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Ethiopia's 8.8. Additionally, while Germany faces organized crime challenges, its indices are generally better than those of Ethiopia in areas like mafia presence and state crime. However, Germany is ranked 29th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, which suggests that caution is still advisable in certain areas. Overall, tourists from Ethiopia can expect a safer environment in Germany compared to their home country.
