Cabo Verde is an appealing destination for some Brazilian travelers, thanks to its unique charm and position in the mid-Atlantic. Although it attracts fewer tourists compared to major global destinations, a portion of the 10.6 million Brazilians who travel abroad annually may find Cabo Verde intriguing.
Cabo Verde is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Brazil. While Brazil has a higher murder rate of 22.5 per 100,000 people compared to Cabo Verde's 6.5, the overall crime landscape in Cabo Verde is more favorable. According to the Global Organized Crime Index, Cabo Verde scores better in several categories, such as mafia groups (2.5 vs. Brazil's 7.5) and human smuggling (2.0 vs. Brazil's 4.0). Although there are some crime concerns, Cabo Verde's lower rates of violent crime and organized crime suggest a safer environment for visitors. Overall, while it's always wise for tourists to remain vigilant and informed, Cabo Verde presents a relatively safe destination compared to Brazil.
