Cuba offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Ukrainian travelers. Despite facing recent challenges, its colonial architecture, vibrant salsa music, and stunning beaches contribute to its charm. With 11 million Ukrainians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Cuba an interesting choice for their travels.
Cuba is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Cuba ranks 96th out of 160 countries, while Ukraine is much lower at 156th. In terms of murder rates, Cuba has a rate of 5.0 per 100,000 people, slightly higher than Ukraine's 3.8. However, when looking at organized crime, Cuba scores better in several categories, such as crime networks (Cuba: 2.5 vs. Ukraine: 7.0) and arms trafficking (Cuba: 1.5 vs. Ukraine: 8.0). Overall, while both countries have challenges, Cuba presents a safer environment for tourists from Ukraine.
