China offers a unique blend of modern infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and diverse natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Niger's 26 million residents. While tourist arrivals may vary, China's significance in global tourism remains strong.
China is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Niger. According to the Global Peace Index, China ranks 87th out of 160 countries, while Niger is ranked 139th. The murder rate in China is significantly lower at 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Niger's 4.4. In terms of organized crime, while both countries face challenges, Niger has higher indices in several categories. For instance, Niger scores lower in mafia groups (4.0) and various crime networks (7.0) than China, which scores 7.0 and 7.5 respectively. However, China has higher scores in areas like flora and fauna crime, indicating specific concerns. Overall, tourists from Niger may find China to be a safer destination based on these statistics.
