Brazil offers a diverse range of attractions, including vibrant cultures, stunning landscapes, iconic beaches, and the Amazon rainforest, making it an appealing destination for some of the 23 million people in Burkina Faso. The country's well-developed tourism infrastructure enhances its attractiveness for visitors.
Brazil presents a mixed safety profile for tourists, including those from Burkina Faso. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, which is better than Burkina Faso's 146th position. However, Brazil has a significantly higher murder rate at 22.5 per 100,000 people compared to Burkina Faso's 1.3. In terms of organized crime, Brazil faces challenges, particularly with state crime (8.5) and cocaine trade (9.0) being notably high. Conversely, Burkina Faso has lower indices in these areas. While Brazil may be relatively safer than Burkina Faso in some respects, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions and safety measures when visiting.
