Brunei offers a unique appeal for Russian visitors, featuring a blend of cultural and natural attractions, such as its stunning mosques and Ulu Temburong National Park. While it may not be a mainstream destination, a segment of the 12.4 million Russians who travel abroad annually could find Brunei intriguing.
Brunei is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Russia. While specific safety data for Brunei is limited, it has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.5 per 100,000 people compared to Russia's 6.8. Additionally, Brunei scores better on various organized crime indices, indicating lower levels of mafia activity, crime networks, and state crime. In contrast, Russia ranks relatively low on the Global Peace Index and faces higher rates of violent crime. Therefore, tourists from Russia can expect a safer environment in Brunei, with a lower likelihood of encountering violent crime and organized criminal activities.
