Belgium is an appealing destination for some Ukrainian visitors due to its rich cultural heritage and modern attractions. With millions of Ukrainians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find the historical sites and vibrant cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Antwerp particularly enticing.
Belgium is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Belgium ranks 16th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to Ukraine, which ranks 156th. While Belgium ranks 39th for safety when walking alone at night, it has a significantly lower murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Additionally, various crime indices show that Belgium has lower scores in organized crime categories compared to Ukraine, suggesting a safer environment overall. In summary, despite some concerns about safety at night, Belgium is a safer destination than Ukraine in terms of overall crime and violence.
