Belgium is an appealing destination for some Tunisian visitors, thanks to its rich cultural heritage and modern attractions. The country's historical significance, architectural beauty, and vibrant cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Antwerp contribute to its allure. With around 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Belgium an interesting option to explore.
Belgium is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Tunisia. According to the Global Peace Index, Belgium ranks 16th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In contrast, Tunisia is ranked 72nd. While Belgium ranks 39th in terms of safety for walking alone at night among 40 European countries, its murder rate is significantly lower than Tunisia's—1.1 per 100,000 people in Belgium compared to 4.8 in Tunisia. Crime statistics from the Global Organized Crime Index also suggest that Belgium has lower levels of organized crime compared to Tunisia in several categories, although both countries face challenges. Overall, tourists from Tunisia can feel relatively safe while visiting Belgium, but should remain aware of their surroundings, as in any travel destination.
