Belgium is an appealing destination for some Bangladeshi visitors due to its rich cultural heritage and modern attractions. The country's historical significance, architectural beauty, and the charm of cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Antwerp contribute to its popularity, drawing millions of tourists annually.
Belgium is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Bangladesh. According to the Global Peace Index, Belgium ranks 16th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to many other nations, including Bangladesh, which ranks 91st. In terms of crime statistics, Belgium has a lower murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Bangladesh's 2.4. Additionally, Belgium scores better in various organized crime indices, with lower scores indicating less prevalence of issues such as mafia groups and state crime. However, it's worth noting that Belgium ranks 39th in safety while walking alone at night among European countries, which suggests that some caution is advisable, particularly in certain areas. Overall, while Belgium is safer than Bangladesh in many respects, tourists should remain aware of their surroundings and take standard safety precautions.
