Bangladesh presents a unique and evolving tourism profile, characterized by lush landscapes and diverse cultures, making it an intriguing option for some Turkish travelers. While it currently ranks lower in tourist arrivals, the country attracts visitors seeking authentic cultural experiences and natural beauty. With 2.7 million Turks traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Bangladesh appealing.
Bangladesh can be considered relatively safe for tourists from Türkiye, especially when comparing certain safety metrics. According to the Global Peace Index, Bangladesh ranks 91st out of 160 countries, which is better than Türkiye's rank of 137th. The murder rates are also comparable, with Türkiye at 2.5 per 100,000 people and Bangladesh slightly lower at 2.4. In terms of organized crime, Bangladesh shows lower indices in several areas compared to Türkiye, indicating a somewhat safer environment regarding crime networks and foreign crime. However, human trafficking and smuggling rates in Bangladesh are concerning and higher than in Türkiye. Overall, while both countries have their challenges, Bangladesh may present a safer environment for tourists from Türkiye based on the available data. Travelers should always remain vigilant and informed about local conditions.
